Early Years
Discovering Music
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was born and raised in Rauma, Finland, where I spent my childhood and early adulthood before work eventually brought me through Pori to Imatra, where I have lived since 2003.
As a child, I enjoyed many different interests, including tennis, table tennis, athletics, skiing and collecting butterflies. Yet music always held a special place in my life.
I remember telling my mother that I wanted to learn to play the piano. My first instruments were instead a harmonica and a recorder, which I began learning on my own. Later, I received an organ and started taking formal lessons.
Those early experiences opened the door to a lifelong relationship with music—first as a listener and player, and eventually as a songwriter.
Classical Foundations
Falling in Love with Classical Music
As my musical education progressed, classical music opened an entirely new world to me. When a piano became part of our home, I began studying it more seriously and later learned to play the flute as well.
I completed lower-degree studies in classical piano and once dreamed of becoming a professional pianist. Eventually, I realised that reaching that level would require rebuilding much of my playing technique, and I chose a different path. Even so, the experience gave me a lasting respect for discipline, expression and musical craftsmanship.
Johann Sebastian Bach became one of my greatest inspirations. I was especially drawn to the beauty of his melodies, the precision of his structures and the emotional depth hidden within them.
His music has often accompanied me while working or concentrating. Its balance, clarity and almost mathematical order help me focus while still offering something deeply human and moving.
Musical Influences
Music Without Boundaries
My musical taste has never remained within one genre. As a child, I was deeply drawn to rockabilly and the unforgettable energy of artists such as Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly and Gene Vincent, together with Finnish groups like The Slippers and Teddy & The Tigers.
Classical composers including Sergei Rachmaninoff and Franz Liszt later became important favourites, adding another dimension to my appreciation of melody, emotion and musical power.
More recently, I discovered the Bee Gees and became fascinated by their exceptional songwriting, emotional lyrics and beautifully layered vocal harmonies.
Today I can enjoy almost any style of music, provided it has a strong melody, genuine feeling and lyrics that connect with me. Genre matters less than whether a song leaves a lasting emotional impression.
A New Creative Chapter
Becoming a Songwriter
When I was younger, I occasionally created small compositions at the piano, but songwriting was never something I pursued seriously at the time.
That changed when modern AI-assisted music tools gave me a new way to turn ideas, emotions and stories into complete songs. What began as an experiment gradually became a much more meaningful creative journey.
At first, I shared the songs only with friends. Their encouraging reactions gave me the confidence to publish my music on YouTube and see whether a wider audience might connect with it as well.
When listeners began responding positively, it motivated me to keep creating, exploring different styles and developing a more distinct musical identity of my own.
Purpose
Why I Create Music
Every song begins with an emotion. Sometimes it comes from faith, sometimes from love, nature, loss, gratitude or the experiences that shape our lives.
I do not want to create music only for the sake of releasing another song. I want each piece to carry a meaningful story and give the listener something genuine to feel.
My hope is that the music can bring comfort during difficult moments, strengthen hope, offer encouragement or simply give someone a beautiful melody that stays with them.
If even one song helps someone feel understood, inspired or less alone, then the music has fulfilled its purpose.
